Ms. Publicist: Middle of the month, where often do What’s In A Name. I was thinking about Meelo Morster, the head of Lunar Imperial in A Farewell to Arfs, who seems to be thinking Chet’s a candidate for being sent into space. Here’s how he first appears:
“A barefoot man in a suit came hurrying out, a big white smile on his face, the same shade of white as the moon on the brightest of nights … At first, I’d taken him for a big guy, maybe even Bernie’s size, but the closer he got the more he shrank. The big white smile stayed the same, maybe even growing. Was he one of those dudes who ended up seeming bigger than he was? I tried to think of another dude like that and could not.” So, Pete, what’s up with that name?
Pete: Well, it’s a bit unusual, even otherworldly, and so, in my opinion, are some of these future-minded titans of tech. Are they here and yet not here?
Ms. Publicist: The surname – Morster – seems not too far from monster.
Pete: Oh?
Ms. Publicist: And Meelo seems somewhat suggestive of Elon.
Pete: It does?
Ms. Publicist: And so ends this month’s edition of What’s In A Name. See you next month for more, and meanwhile enjoy A Farewell to Arfs, available wherever books are sold.
