Sophie has very good taste in literature. Diana pawPrints and Freyja Grey are not allowed to read books, however I have been known to read aloud to them. They ponder the books much like Sophie does. Relaxed, comfortable with eyes closed to shut out any distractions from the written word I am conveying to them. They are deep thinkers and often I cannot rouse them from their thoughts, pondering what they have absorbed.
Thankfully Sophie is not a drooler.
It is National Dress Up Your Pet day. Maybe I’ll just put them in new collars. Neither are keen on hats or clothes although Diana has learned to wear booties as she is sensitive to some flooring. doesn’t like marble or polished concrete.
It is also Feast of the Ass day, marking appreciation for the several donkeys in the bible.
Perry (Pericles), the Jerusalem miniature donkey who was used as a model for the donkey in Shrek passed away recently at the age of 30. A good age for a donkey. He lived in Barron Park in Palo Alto and the animators visited him for inspiration, to watch him move and sketch him. He is survived by his companions April and Buddy.
