I’ll bet OFA is already in Arizona, having take a very early flight. Doing more research for the next Chet & Bernie which won’t come out until….2026. *sob*
In addition to National Dog day, official (every day being Dog Day for some of us) it is also National Cherry Popsicle day. For those of us that had ice cream trucks come around in our youth…do you remember the Big Stick? Red and orange? That was cherry. Not sure you can get just cherry alone any more and I have never seen a Big Stick in the freezer section at the store.
Anyone else fondly remember frozen treats they used to get in their youth? Any favorites?
I remember the Good Humor truck coming around when I was a kid in Queens. The truck had a row of bells over the windshield that the driver rung by pulling on a chain that was attached. The freezer was in the back of the truck. I used to love the ice cream bars on a stick that had the chocolate bar inside of it. Another one of my favorites came in a large cup. It was chocolate ice cream with frozen whipped cream on top. I can’t remember what either one of these were called, but they were really good. Mister Softee was another one of my favorites. I can never say no to ice cream! :^)
I also won’t say no to a cherry popsicle or an Italian ice.
