Many thanks to Traci LaMendola for sending this re Hutch, Chet’s January Friend of the Month. He’ll be the FB profile pic and Traci gets a signed copy of A Farewell to Arfs, the most recent #ChetandBernie #mystery. Next month this could be U! Just post a pic. The random number generator takes over from there.
Thank you! Hutch was rescued from an Amish farm in Lancaster County, PA. He has been in his forever home with us since 8/15/24. He has a almost 12 year old blind Australian Cattledog sister, Page, who tolerates him most of the time and a cat, Bowie, that he is learning to get along with. Hutch is about 9 months old. 45% Border Collie, 38% Australian Cattledog…so very smart with a lot of energy!!! All of our dogs have been named after someone from a band so Hutch got his name from the lead singer from INXS, Michael Hutchence. Hutch is a good boy most of the time. He’s a puppy with lots of puppy energy!!!

Welcome Hutch.
Good day to all.
Greetings!
Thanks, Traci for sharing Hutch’s story. He is a very handsome boy. I love that you name your dogs (and cat) after band members. I’m guessing Page was named for Jimmy Page (Led Zep), and Bowie goes without saying. If only I had some four-leggeds, they would be Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, and Starr. :^)
Good day to all!
For only being “home” for four months, Hutch has certainly made himself at home and what a lucky boy he is. Hutch is from a long line of singers like my dogs are from mighty warriors and gods. What a great combination, border collie and cattle dog. II’ll bet Hutch is wicked smart and learns very quickly.
It’s National Buffet day, Swiss Cheese day and Cream Puff day.
It is also National Pet Travel Safety day. Mine don’t do much traveling except to the dog park and back but I do have number 1 rated safety harnesses for them both.
Congrats to Hutch!! It sounds like he landed in a great home. And he is indeed a very good looking fellow who definitely blends with the cowhide and cow stuffie!
