Help! At the recent signing at Watermark Books & Cafe in Doo-Dah (nickname for Wichita), a reader showed me a passage she liked in one of the Chet and Bernie books. It’s about how night doesn’t fall (to Chet’s way of thinking) but rather rises up from the ground. I was going to post it but I don’t remember which book it’s from! She showed me, of course, but it was in the signing line where lots is happening. So: anybody?
And meanwhile it’s the last day of the month, meaning last day of eligibility for anyone interested in being Chet’s September Friend of the Month. A new FOM already! August always seems like the longest month to me, but it went by very quickly.
Hhhmmm…That night passage is a brain buster. If I read as fast as Grizz does, I would start re-reading all the C&B books right now.
Big Tiny: I will always be on this here blog. As for the calendar, I need seven pictures to complete a 2025 calendar. If anyone would like to e-mail me a photograph, I could try and finish it.

If any of you have the whole collection on kindle, you can load a C&B book, click on magnifying glass, type in phrase (I don’t know if it has to be exact, but probably does), and hit return to search. I only have 6 of the volumes on kindle, audio for some, hard copy for some, borrowed some from library. I looked at the kindle ones I have, using ‘night rises up from the ground’ and didn’t find it. Good luck to any of you who go on the search!

I searched for “night rises up”
That narrows down the search in the hard copies. Unless the phrase “night rises up” isn’t the exact wording.
