  1. Greetings!

    I like the croc/alligator graphic. :^)

A light dusting of snow in this neck of the woods. For those in the path of the heavy snow, stay safe.

    Good afternoon to all!

  2. Could’ve been worse here but still the most snow we have seen in a few years. At least six inches and it is still sporadically falling, although forecasts are for no more than another inch or so. Sidewalk and brick walkway to our front door have been shoveled at least three times (better to do it in periodic increments rather than just waiting until it stops; we are not as spry as in younger days) but definitely under control. Both cars are parked at the bottom of our driveway, which is advisable since driveway in full is about 60 feet long. Should have some semblance of normalcy by about Wednesday, but the snow that has fallen will be around for a while, particularly since temperatures will get no higher than the low 30’s for the new few days. One member of the family is delighted though — you can guess who. It took him a bit of time this morning to figure out how to navigate this white stuff, but once he got the hang to it, it was pure delight. Much to our pleasant surprise, Miss Abby even put in an appearance this morning — she would not let something tike a little snow prevent that nose from poking through under the fence.

    1. I so wish there was video of Franklin figuring out the snow today and then his joyous romp. I’ll be it was entertaining and delightful.

Freyja is looking forward to her boxes of snow. Do you have a tracking number?

  3. I like the font and the design.

It is Three Kings Day, Epiphany, Twelfth night and National Take Down the Christmas Tree day.

    Also Sherlock Holmes birthday.

For those of us living with fur of a certain disposition, National Cuddle day. Mine are always at the ready to get cuddles.

Nice day today. Sunny, clear and in the low 70s. My day went very smoothly. I was able to park out front and unload the 12 Old Castle corner blocks up my neighbor’s driveway and in through my side gate before leaving for my errands. Parked right in front of BevMo, no waiting, picked up my order and even gave the clerk my recipe for Rum balls as he had never heard of them. Then off to Vons where I didn’t get everything on my list but did pick up some specials and saved on some deals. I think saved 28% today which was pretty high. Picked up my meds and will be talking to my doctor about why my Omeprazole isn’t covered any more and if there is a work around. last stop was Home Depot where I got the first three boards I need to finish raised bed #3 and #4. Pulled up in front of my house and the neighbor’s driveway was empty so unloaded the wood. Well, a nice pedestrian offered to do it for me and I let him. Then since the driveway was deserted I rolled the old fiberglass fountain out of the front yard and on to the easement in front of my house and took photos. It will be going up on Freecycle and Craigslist for “free you haul”. Hopefully someone will want it. I’ll give it a week and then either put it in the alley to be stolen or cut it up and put it in the trash in stages.

All in all a good day. Plus my from scratch beef stock is done and looks like a successful recipe. I may be making beef and barley soup and a few other dishes in the next few weeks. Then I’m going to try the chicken stock recipe.

Tomorrow I may or may not be going to Home Depot for more boards. I need 12 for the sides of #3 and #4 but need to measure first. May need to make two trips. Then I may be cutting up boards or something else.

My cousins are coming to the U.S. in August so the push is on to get my house looking like a magazine layout in case they come to visit.
