Booklist on A Farewell to Arfs

Booklist on A Farewell to Arfs, the brand new Chet and Bernie novel:

“Chet tells the story, and his literal perceptions are a delightful contrast to the sinister crime, which will delight fans of the long-running series.”

  1. It is the perfect day for A Farewell to Arfs. It is National Read a Book day!

For those who like a brew, it is National Coffee Ice Cream day. I don’t so won’t.

It is also National Chianti day. I only cook with it. Just not sweet enough for me. I drink Quady Electra red. It is sweet and fruity like berries. There is also a white which has citrus tones to it. I don’t care for the pink at all.

If none of that delights, it is National Food Bank day. You can always donate. Foodbank of the Rockies does good work. Star Brand Beef donates to them and I buy Star Brand Beef when I can.

  2. ML, thanks for the great feedback yesterday! I read your advice to Huny Punkin. I just love the interaction in these posts!

Consider me one of those delighted fans Booklist refers to.

    1. Do an amazon search for “How to Train Singers: With Illustrated Natural Techniques & Audio Exercises Plastic Comb – January 1, 2001
      by Larra Browning Henderson (Author)”

and it should come up for $1.97 plus $3.99 shipping.

I have the audio in my iTunes library and can burn you a CD.

      1. Breathing exercises on YouTube.

The breathing exercises are just as important to strengthen the body to support correct sound production.

It’s hard to lear from a book. Better to see someone doing the breathing exercises and hear them doing the vocal exercises.

BTW Larra Browning Henderson was a trained opera singer but she went far beyond that. She studied anatomy and sat in on medical classes in order to learn more about exactly how the body works and vocal sound is produced. All of her exercises if done correctly will improve vocal production and do no harm. They are scientifically based, not just passed down from who knows where like so many “warm ups” from church choirs.
