Sunday is for beginnings, when we take a look at the start of a Peter Abrahams #\novel including those written under the Spencer Quinn moniker™. All my beginnings have one thing in common: in medias res. Here’s the start of Mrs. Plansky Goes Rogue, coming July 15 and pre-orderable anytime, like when you’re done with breakfast today.
“What’s your favorite sports cliché?” said Kev Dinardo.
“In general?” Mrs. Plansky said. “Or possibly useful at the moment?”

Greetings!
This beginning made me chuckle. :^)
Good Sunday afternoon to all!
I won’t say what went through my mind when you said breakfast and Mrs Plansky was with someone named Kev Dinardo. Merry Widow, yeah, my mind went there. At least they are opponents, not doubles partners but one never knows. After all, tennis is full of Love.
Aside from today being Daylight Stupid day, it is also National Barbie day and National Crab Meat day and National Meatball day. And once you are done with those, it is National Dishwasher day. The history of the dishwasher is amazing. A wealthy socialite designed it in 1858. She got a patent in 1886 and her company was eventually acquired in 1926 by….Kitchen Aid. But the dishwasher was mostly used in hotels until the 1950s. It really took off in the 1970s. I remember when my Mom had her kitchen redone for the first time in the 1970s, she was very excited to finally get a dishwasher. And she bought a Kitchen Aid.
