Phriday Photos

Yay! Where you take over and I put my feet up. Send in anything (almost!) about anything (almost!) with visuals and text and I’ll post it. (Email to peter.b.abrahams@gmail.com) This one, from Sarah Wolf, strikes just the right note for me, since I’m on the second-last chapter of Cat on a Hot Tin Woof, the next Chet and Bernie novel, which will follow Mrs. Plansky Goes Rogue, coming this summer – and preorderable,  in case you were wondering. And now, with many thanks, over to you, Sarah!

This is Tater. He and I met back in 2018. He’s been my best friend ever since. I honestly was never really a cat person, but he nuzzled his way into my heart. He chose me as his person for whatever reason and I have never been more grateful! His favorite place to be is always in front of a fireplace, which I think is funny, because that was my favorite spot to nap growing up. One of his other favorite activities is listening to me read a book out loud. Needless to say, his favorite books are the Chet and Bernie mysteries!

  1. Given the blogs’ past history with the Iditarod, I’m pleased to report that the winner of the 2025 Iditarod race crossed the finish line just a few hours ago. The winner is veteran musher Jessie Holmes, securing his first-ever Iditarod championship. Holmes crossed the finish line of the 53rd running of the Iditarod in Nome at 2:55 a.m. today (Alaska time) with 10 dogs in harness; all it took was 10 days of grueling competition across the frozen Alaskan wilderness, As we know, the true heroes here are his team of incredible dogs, who made the trek with him over the 1,128 mile journey from Fairbanks to Nome.

  2. Welcome to all you Chet the Dog Facebook fans! Since Spence (or OFA, Our Favorite Author, as he’s known on the blog) invited you over to see Phriday Photos, I’ll give you a bit of history on how it evolved. Over here, unlike the Facebook page, contributors cannot post photos. So OFA had the idea that we should send photos to HIM and he would post them on Fridays. I suppose it’s our version of Chet’s Friend of the Month. Enjoy!
And Tater is gorgeous! Thanks, Sarah, for sharing him with us! I’ve only known mean cats so it is encouraging to know that sweet ones DO exist! ❤️

    1. Thanks for the kind welcome! 😁 And I didn’t know sweet ones existed either until I met Tater! I’m extremely excited hearing that Cat on a Hot Tin Woof is nearly complete! Excellent name suggestion by the way, if I recall correctly that you were one of the contributors to that title.

  3. Tater is gorgeous. Cats are funny. Our first cat, also black, chose my dad. Who never was a cat person. They are each there own purrsonality.
