Today in Chatham

Today from 1-3 I’ll be at Yellow Umbrella Books in Chatham on Cape Cod. Almost like going back in time. Y’all come, as we don’t say in these parts. (Can’t miss Yellow Umbrella – just a few doors down from the legendary Chatham Squire pub.)

  1. Sounds like a delightful event! I wish it were not all the way across the continent! I will be there in spirit. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

  2. Chatham is lucky to have a bookstore, a famous author come by and a pub. I’ll bet OFA is familiar with both the bookstore and the pub.

I have been invited to an open house holiday party at my jewelers. I have no business for them but did a few years ago so they add me to their invite list. It’s fun. I get to dress up in some of my favorite Christmas stuff, have some nibbles and look at all of the shiny sparkley I can’t afford.

Then I have to swing by the store for pecans and more sugar.

If there’s still daylight I will start cutting the boards for the fence gate. I marked them all yesterday.

  3. I miss the colloquialisms of the South, but am enjoying the Idaho ones. For example, if something is expensive, they say it’s ‘spendy’.
BTW, I’m working on a submission for Photo Phriday of our first dog, Taffy.
