Ruby Gardner in The Tutor

Very nice to see Ruby Gardner and The Tutor on this list (you have to scroll down to the second section). I loved writing that character. She led to all the writing I did for younger readers – the Echo Falls Trilogy, Bowser and Birdie, Queenie and Arthur, plus Reality Check (Edgar Winner) and Bullet Point. (I’m told that some young teens do enjoy the Chet and Bernie series but it’s written for adults.)

    1. I have two patties I grilled in the freezer and I am thawing them out, heating them up and putting cheese on them to celebrate. I even stopped on the way home from art class to pick up chips to go with it. No Rice Krispie treats for their day. However I do have some orange creamsicle bars in the freezer, some raspberry tarts and some chocolate so I have my choice of deserts, even though it isn’t their day.

  1. Today is Read an e-Book day. I suppose we all know what e-Books we would be reading. Not only the C&B series with the occasional special discount for the e-book version but all of those little perk e-stories for ordering early or just because.

I will give a shout out to A Cat Was Involved because that is the pre-quel that started it all. Without that cat, Chet would never have met Bernie. Or at least, wouldn’t have become his partner in the business.

(Heads up for tomorrow, me mateys.)
